At this point the exact sequence of construction has yet to be determined, but there are some things we can tell you. First, the Children's Department will be moving from its present location into an adjacent space on the lower floor at the south end of the building. It will be accessed via the staircase immediately behind the circulation desk. This move will not take place until the last possible moment before construction begins. Temporary walls are going to be built to shield the present main hall of the Library from the area to be renovated. This means that the space containing the photocopiers, and the magazine and newspaper reading area, will have to move into the remaining (western) part of the building - to be absorbed in a manner that frankly eludes us at this point.
