This is a question that a number of people have been asking recently, particularly in relation to the fund raising campaign and the library expansion project. The short answer is, quite a lot. The Special Edition Campaign is continuing to receive donations, with some significant ones currently being negotiated. However assistance of any denomination is welcome as the campaign begins to draw to a close. In the meantime the building expansion project which is the purpose of the campaign is also moving forward, with Hulbert Group architects making progress with the building design. Construction is expected to commence later this year. In order to continue providing our services with as little disruption as possible, some library functions will be moving about. Because North Shore Health has conveniently (for us, at least) decided to consolidate their services in a new building on Lonsdale Quay, we will shortly be moving our Technical Services (book ordering, cataloguing, etc.) into their vacated premises. The Children's Department will then be moved into the area previously occupied by Technical Services, allowing the construction work to begin at the east end of the building. No doubt it will be noisy and dusty for all of us, but well worth enduring in order to gain a greatly expanded building. WEST VANCOOVER MEMORIAL LIBRARY 1950 Marine Drive West Vancouver B.C.
