Lately we've been trying to deal with an unaccustomed obstacle in providing library service - snow. Coming on top of December's power failures, snow and cold, and the further heavy snowfall in January, we're keeping our fingers crossed for February. Remember last year? Then it was the month of St. Valentine's Day that gave us our worst dumps of the year. We usually manage to open our doors during these storms, but occasionally close early if the snow has been building up steadily throughout the day. The fundraising campaign is still going, having now passed $4.2 million. It's always nice to see those donations for the building fund, and if you'd like to support the project, the number to call is 926-2013. We're not quite there yet. Building design work continues, and we hope to begin construction around the middle of the year. Prior to that, we'll be moving some of our services around somewhat, and spilling over into the building next door which the North Shore Union Board of Health expects to vacate sometime in March. We'll probably also be moving additional books into our storage facility at Hillside School WEST VANCOUVER MEMORIAL LI3RARE 1950 Marine Drive West Vancouver B.C.
