As well as covering the well documented classical civilizations, such as Greece, Rome, Persia, India and China, the book examines the mysterious civilizations of the Steppes, the Yucatan, the Andes, the Arctic and Easter Island. Quite often books are donated in memory of someone. One such title is Art of Our Century; the Chronicle of Western Art, 1900 to the Present. As the title indicates, it is a chronology, but makes information on artists and genres accessible in a magazine- style format.
