It is hoped that construction will begin early in 1991 on the addition, which will be a four storey structure positioned in the ravine immediately east of the present Library. As the third floor will be an extension of the main floor of the existing building, the overall height of the Library will be no greater than at present. The building schedule, which has yet to be finalized, would see a completion of the project late in 1992, at which time all the books currently in off-site storage will be returned to the regular shelves. There will also be much more space for children's pro- grams and public meetings, a separate area for teens, more study tables and comfortable chairs for quiet reading, proper access to all parts of the building for people with limited mobility, and a much less congested checkout area. In the meantime, the fund raising campaign is still ongoing and could certainly use your help if you haven't contributed yet. WEST VANCOUVER MEMORIAL LIBRARY 1950 Marine Drive West Vancouver B.C.
