Now that school's out and we're into the hot days of July (we hope!), it's time to mention things like the special vacation loan period that we offer patrons on a once-a-year basis. This is to allow you an extra two weeks on your normal 28 day loans, so you can take a good selection of reading with you when you head out on your holiday travels. Please ask for details. And if you're staying in town, be sure to enrol the kids in the summer reading program organized by our Children's Department. We should also remind you that Sunday opening of the Memorial Library has ended for the Summer and will resume on October 7. The extra two months of Sunday operation this year (i.e. May and June) proved to be very popular and will be repeated next year. The Special Edition campaign for Library expansion is going well (now at about 80% of its goal) but still needs help! Ask at the information desk or phone 926-2013 to learn how you can be part of this community effort. Meanwhile the Hulbert Group (Architects) continue with design plans for the expansion. Have a good summer. WEST VANCOUVER MEMORIAL LIBRARY 1950 Marine Drive West Vancouver B.C. V7V 1J8 (604) 926 3291
