OXNAN, Robert B. Cinnabar (FIC OXN) A riveting tale of mystery, adventure and romance, from New York to Peking to Hong Kong. Encompassing Chinese history, culture and language, and involving a priceless art collection and an exquisite Cinnabar lacquer box. A complex plot. CHERNOW, Ron The House of Morgan (332.12 CHE) Traces the American banking dynasty from its obscure beginning in the 1800s up to the crash of 1987. A fascinating chronicle of four generations of Morgans documenting their relationships, intrigues and feuds. Many historical figures - dealings with the U.S. and British governments, the Morgan banks in Japan, Saudi Arabia and Brazil - contemporary figures such as Rupert Murdoch, Adnan Khashoggi and Henry Ford II. This was by no means an isolated incident. In fact the Taped Books service has attracted more donations and bequests than we can possibly utilize in that specific area at present, given the Library's serious lack of space. Instead, we have encouraged people like our staff member, who wished particularly to focus her gift on the area which her Mother appreciated so much, to channel it instead towards Library expansion. This will enable us in time to provide sufficient space to house and display a larger collection, and provide a better service to those in our community who, as a result of visual, physical or perceptual impairment, are unable to use conventional print materials. The "Taped Books" are actually works of fiction or non-fiction, including classics or recent best sellers, which have been transcribed onto cassette tape by professional readers. Because they are unabridged, access to them is restricted by copyright requirements to patrons who have been certified by a health care professional as being eligible for the program.
