West Vancouver Historical Society 680 -17*^ Street, West Vancouver BC V7V 3T2 Phone 604-925-7299 WHO ARE WE? -The West Vancouver Historical Society was founded by the West Vancouver Rotary Club in 1981. We have over 300 members. WHAT HAVE WE DONE? - We began collecting West Vancouver historical material in 1981 and continue to do so. - We prevented the demolishing of the Ferry Building, now a landmark art gallery. - By 1990 we had established (with the District of West Vancouver) the Museum and Archives at historic Gertrude Lawson House. We have supported the Museum and Archives ever since. WHAT ARE WE DOING NOW? - We are actively campaigning for the restoration of Hollyburn Lodge as a West Vancouver Olympic project. - We support the Lightstation at Point Atkinson being developed as an Interpretive Centre open to the public. - We publish five issues of History-Onics and hold five public meetings annually. - We take part in Community Day and other civic events and have members who represent us on various Advisory Committees to Mayor and Council. - It has been said we are "the Conscience of the History and Heritage of West Vancouver" WHY DON'T YOU JOIN US? - It's as simple as completing and mailing the form below.
