Winning The War at Home Wartime Posters from the Second World War Presented by Isaac Vanderhorst, the assistant education coordinator with the West Vancouver Museum. During the Second World War, posters, radio programs and newsreels played an important role in shaping and delivering positive consistent messaging to the Canadian population. Financial support for the war, calls for increased production and the notion that behavior on the home front ultimately affected success on the battle- front, were important messages conveyed by wartime posters. Today, these posters document the powerful slogans and images used by the Canadian government, service organizations and private companies to mobilize British Columbians during the Second World War. Also, there will be some wartime newsreel footage shown, that many of us will remember from those unfortunate memorable times. Page 1
