TOM TERRIFIC----EDITOR EXTRORDINAIRE WEST VANCOUVER HISTORICAL SOCIETY I’m sure I speak for all the members of the Society when I say TOM TAYLOR will be greatly missed as the editor of our Society newsletter. Tom announced in the October 2006 newsletter, that the November 2006 publication would be his last, and while we are very saddened by this news, we are all very aware of the constant pressure to publish. As most of you know, Tom has been the chief cook and bottle washer for the production of our newsletter since 2003. It is entirely due to his dedication, expansive knowledge of West Vancouver, its citizens, and his love for the history of West Vancouver that he has been able to month in and month out bring forth new and interesting articles for our enjoyment. So while we say FAREWELL to Tom as our editor-in-chief, we can rest assured that he will continue on as a valued Director and member of our Society. Tomâ€"As a long time family friend, and on behalf of the West Vancouver Historical Society, we say to you, THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts. Pamela (Croll) Friedrich, Secretary, West Vancouver Historical Society, October 2006 Note from TT Thanks for the above comments, Pamela! I have to say that my work with the W.H.S. has been enjoyable though pressing. It is a demanding job which I now pass on to others to do. Three years ago this month, when I was the president who lacked a vice-president and became the newsletter editor, I lamented all the work that had to be done with few to do it. When I called for help, it arrived in spades, and has kept coming since. While we no longer have a “one-man bandâ€, we really need a conductor. If you like to wield such a baton, we’d like to hear from you soon; otherwise, we’re leaderless! (Two conductors would be even better!) Historical Society’s Spuraway Gardens Christmas Party This party will be held on Wednesday, December 13“" at Spuraway Lodge, 235 Keith Road, starting at 7:00 p.m. Tea and coffee will be served and donations of finger food will be appreciated. Santa will be present, and there will be carol singing, of course. All members are welcome. Guests may be dropped off at Spuraway Lodge (use second entrance to Spuraway) Parking is on Keith Road only. We will have a box for donations of food for the Food Bank.
