Page 6 Ml'S. Small was the first girl guide commissioner in West Vancouver. A member of the May Day Society, she was responsible for the May Queen entourages from the first May Day held in West Vancouver. She was ti'easurer of the society until her death. She was a life member of the Canadian Red Cross Society and active in the organization until she died. During World War II she worked for the Red Cross Corps in West Vancouver. Mrs. Small was an active member of the Ambulance Committee since its formation. A volunteer worker on the West Vancouver Welfare Association, she was the local caseworker for more than 10 years. Until her death she worked at the gift shop in Lions Gate Hospital. She was a life member of the West Vancouver Unit of the Auxiliary to Lions Gate Hospital. Although not active in the West Vancouver Community Association in the past 12 years, she was a member of the original boai'd of directors. She was involved in the Santa Claus Fund since its inception. Mi's. Small was an avid bridge player and in the last 10 years she visited Expo ’67, traveled to California and Hawaii and toured B.C. by bus. Mrs. Small was always concerned about the lack of a museum or archives for West Vancouver. Her friends are setting up a trust fund in lieu of flowers and plan to start an ai'chives collection. Donations are being accepted by the clerk’s office at the West Vancouver Municipal Hall. Cheques should be made out to the Sibbie Small memorial fund in trust.
