Our Next General Meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 25th at the West Vancouver Seniors’ Centre Starting at 7:00 P.M. Elinor (Miller) Martin will speak to us about her recent book Celebrating Seventy Years of Minis- try 1933 - 2003 A History of the Parish of St. Christopher, West Vancouver, BC. Here’s a taste of what’s in the book: Parish boundaries were set from the centre of 14th Street on the west to the Capilano River on the east and from the waterfront on the south to a line running east and west 23/4 miles due north of the Capilano Bridge on Marine Driveâ€"in effect, the northern extent of proposed residential development on Hollyburn Ridge. Bill Dickinson wrote: The Dickinson family home was on the east side of 14th Street, and I remember my mother being most upset at having to belong to the new parish instead of St. Stephen’s.[Parish boundaries were firmly set in those days.] As it turned out, my mother became a leading light in St. Christopher’s activities, especially as a hostess of fund-raising tea parties and garden parties at out home.
