He died some time ago, but did write an autobiography with stories of the Ferries. I will dig those out and send them to you, Anne, for the scrapbook. By the way, in the early 1950's I delivered news- papers to the Lawson House." Ed Note: "Jack" added a note to say that the article mentioned above had actually appeared in the Vancouver Sun newspaper. No matter, we are delighted to receive this news from you and look forward to receiving your father's autobiography. Our readers will be very interested in reading the Captain’s memoirs. Afterwards we shall, with your approval Jack, deliver the papers to the West Vancouver Community Archives (in Gertmde Lawson House) so that they may be available to all. What Was Happening in West Van Within One Week of December 1942? (Taken from WVHS Files) Our readers enjoyed these memories from that "week in December 1942", which eppeared in our last issue, that we are continuing them one more time. "Thieves on Friday night broke into the branch office of H.A. Roberts Ltd. at 1429 Marine Drive, in which is located the office of this newspaper. Entry was made by breaking a window in the west wall of the office, which looks on a narrow passageway between it and the next building. Nothing was taken but a few reference books of no value, which were on the top of the editor’s desk. From footmarks in the mud of the passageway the local police think the burglary was the work of youngsters.†"In a letter received recently from Capt. the Rev. F. A. Ramsey, who is now chaplain of the 3rd Division, R.C.A.S.C., he states he had the privilege on October 25th of taking a service in St. Martins-in-the-Field. His regiment marched for two days to attend this, their annual service in London. Captain Ramsey writes that he is well, busy and enjoying his work and England." ’’Graeme Robinson, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Robinson, late of Duchess Avenue, has discontinued his studies at U. B. C. and joined the R. C. A.F. He left for the east November 5th.†Is your name, or the names of any friends or family members, mentioned in these extracts from Society fdes of December 1942? If so, do please write in and let us know what happened in the futures of these adventurous West Vancouverites.
