Here is what he says: "The article in the September edition of History-Onics (Your Letters) triggered a few memories of bygone school days for me. I too commenced my formal education in Dundarave School in 1929 and graduated from West Van High in 1942. Dundarave School was a two room school serving grades 1 - 4. In those days we seldom used the roads to get to school, instead we followed the many short-cut trails through the bush area. Houses were few and far between. Dundarave School was closed in 1933 and Pauline Johnson and Hollybum became the only Elementary Schools in West Van. Of course, West Van High or Inglewood High (your choice of names) was the only Junior/Senior High School in the Municipality. I must apologise to Jeannie Allan (Moss) because for some strange reason my memory does not, after 70 years, allow me the privilege of total recall of many of my fellow students. However, my best regards to all fellow alumni." Thank you, Bert, for sharing your memories with us. What changes there have been over the years! The Historical Society also recently received the following letter from the West Vancouver Santa Claus Fund (sponsored by the W. V. Welfare Assoc.) to thank all the members who brought donations to the Society Christmas party. Well done everyone! We packed 284 food hampers and countless toy hampers. You played a part in spreading cheer for which we are most grateful! Happy New Year to all! (Mrs.) Ruth Stout Executive Officer
