The Seniors' Centre is situated at the north-west comer of 21st Street and Marine Drive. The PARADE will leave Ambleside at 10:00 am, proceed along Marine Drive to 22nd Street, arriving at 12:00 noon when it turns up 22nd to disperse. It is expected that our entry for the PARADE will be Byron and Josie Briton in their Heritage Overland. Our BANNER will be proudly waving and we will be pleased to see you when the parade is over. We hope the weatherman gives us a warm, sunny day to enjoy the festivities and crafts - we would prefer the weather be more "Wild" than "Wet". Site Achievement Awards were presented as part of a special Heritage Week Ceremony and Reception, held at the Museum and Archives. This year the West Vancouver Historical Society congratulates recipient Jim MacCarthy for his dedication and commitment to heritage related initiatives in West Vancouver. Jim has been a "longtime" member of the Society since 1982. During this time he has taken a leadership role in many groups and causes, directly promoting the Historical Society and the Streamkeepers. He has also taken indirect leadership in local celebrations, such as the annual Coho Festival and the 75th anniversary of West Vancouver, wherein he was Committee Chairman for the opening ceremony. Jim has an understanding of the requirements that sustain heritage awareness and sense of community in West Vancouver. Thank you Jim!
