EXECUTIVE REPORT By: Helen Davies^ President BOARD OF DIRECTORS FOR 1998 At the April 29, 1998 General Meeting four new Directors were elected to the Society Board. I am pleased to welcome Mia Bonettemaker, Gerry Kidd, Bob Tapp and Anne Vernon to the Board. Relative newcomers to the Society are Mia, a C.G.A. in private practice, who replaces Ken Mllington as Treasurer and Gerry Kidd, a long time West Vancouver resident who brings with him considerable experience in the field of publishing. It is quite likely you already know the two other new members on the Board, Aime Vernon and Bob Tapp. I am sure many of you who are unable to attend the Society’s General Meetings look forward to Anne’s engaging feature presentation reports on the latest guest speaker. Bob Tapp, another welcome addition to the Board, will play an active role as he pursues the Hollybum Ski Lodge Project. Not standing for re-election this year were former Directors Mary Chapman and Ron Grisdale, and Vice President Alan Johnstone and Secretary Susan Dirassar. The Board will miss their valued contributions. I am pleased to report, however, that retiring Susan Dirassar will continue to be involved in the Society’s Oral History Project. I am confident that we can continue to look forward to Mary’s contributions in History-onics. No doubt Alan and Ron will continue to be involved in the Society too. Also stepping down this year is our Program Chair, Jim McCarthy. Over the past several years, Jim has worked hard to make sure Society members could anticipate hearing interesting and informative guest speakers. Looking back over the list of speakers, I am impressed by the wide range of subjects covered. The Program Committee members will have their work cut out for them, as they strive to maintain Jim’s high standards. On behalf of the membership I want to thank all four directors for their many hours of service to the organization and congratulate them for working to ensure the preservation and promotion of West \^couver’s heritage. Finally, I would like to thank all the directors elected at the recent AGM for agreeing to serve on the Society Board. I look forward to working with them in what promises to be an exciting year.
