Don't Miss Our Christmas Sale November 26 - 29, T\ies.- Fri., 12-4:30pm SPECIAL EVENTS ACTIVITIES Membership Report By: Joan Skipper 1997 Memberships Are Due January 11 Just a gentle reminder that we would appreciate payment for membership renewals as early in the year as possible. Enclosed with this issue is the usual renewal form on a separate page. Please send that cheque off now while you are thinking about it. A Note About New Membership Payments We owe apologies to several people who offered to pay for memberships at our last General Meeting and were advised to wait until the New Year to avoid having to pay again in January. They were misinformed. Any membership payments after the September issue of the Newsletter are considered as payment for the coming year. If you know of anyone so affected, please extend our apologies to them. New memberships continued to come in, up to and including the date of our last meeting. Our total membership, including Corporate and Life Members totalledjust over 500. I would like to introduce the members joining since our last list was published in September. Doris Cooper Margaret Davies John Highland Maureen Hill William Hill Ralph Johnson Isobel Martin Mienke Mees Jean Miller Margaret Mills Jennifer Nixon Frank Patton Martha Skulski Mary Symons Alfred Watts Our Christmas Party this year will be Thursday, December 12 at 7:30 PM, again at lovely “SPURAWAY LODGEâ€, 235 Keith Road, West Vancouver. The Old Santa is back and in good form and is already getting his Santa Suit pressed, boots shined and his HO-HO- HO voice tuned for the occasion. Rappelling down from the sleigh on the roof, is Santa’s special “helperâ€, Deborah Tuyttens, assistant Museum Curator and, of course. Historical Society member! Her mountain climbing skill may well be needed, should Santa become lodged in the chimney: Our stalwart “happy gang†is ready and waiting to help in their own special ways to make the party a fun time. Glasses waiting to be filled, piano tuned and ready, presents under the tree and just the thought of that yununy aroma from the home-made goodies .mmmmmmm PARKING: If arriving from Marine Drive, turn North up Taylor Way and at Keith Road (first light) turn right... If arriving from the Highway, turn south on Taylor Way, and at Keith Road, turn left (east)... Proceed along Keith Road to 235 which is near the end of the road. Don’t turn in at the entry with a wheel, but further on there is a sign SPURAWAY GARDENS, turn in here to drop off passengers, and return to park on Keith Road. Parking is allowed on both sides of Keith Road. We recommend a flashlight, as it is a dark and woodsy area. Don't Forget to Bring Munchies (cheese/ crackers, etc) or Goodies (cakes, tarts and other fattening things) AND DON*T FORGET THE FOOD BANK. SEE YOU AT THE CHRISTMAS PARTY!
