WST VANCOUVER M£MOR„E , „ fflSTORY-""’^ i li VOL. 14 NO V IVEM^^^JS96- THE NEWSLETTER OF THE WEST VANCOUVER HISTORICAL SOCIETY Historical Society Display at Senior Activity Centre Directors personally promoted Historical Society activities with a week long display. To highlight the increasing level of co-operation between the two organizations, the directors of the West Vancouver Historical Society were pleased to man a display of photo panels in the lobby of the Seniors Activity Centre, depicting both historic West Vancouver and the Historical Society’s current programs . The historical photos were a great attraction and many viewers stopped to comment with the directors who manned the display in pairs, two shifts a day, from Tuesday, Oct. 15 until Monday, Oct. 21. Also on display were photo-panels illustrating some of the Museum & Archives’ programs. It was a good opportunity to tell people what our Society and the Museum & Archives are doing. We pointed out the increasing level of co-operation between our organizations. Our General Meetings are now being held on the premises, five evenings during the year, and visitors are always welcome. Our day time programs at the Senior Centre will feature speakers, displays, slides and videos, all on matters related to West Vancouver's history and heritage. The next day session will be held November 28,1996 at 1:30 pm where Hugh Johnston will conduct a slide show illustrating the history of logging on Hollybum Ridge. See page 2.
