The first program will be an introduction to the Historical Society from its beginning in 1980 to today. Subsequent programs will feature speakers, displays, slides and videos, all on matters related to West Vancouver's history and heritage. Dates for the first two sessions are October 10 and November 28,1996 at 1:00 pm. For more information on this subject see the Executive Report on page 2 of this issue. David Wardle, the New Community Archivist at W V M & A There is good news from the Archives! David Wardle assumes responsibilities of Community Archivist, filling the position formerly held by Anne Maclean who resigned early in 1996. David was Archivist at the Penticton Museum and Archives for four years following the opening of the facility. His introduction and photogr£q>h appear on page 5. FEATURE PRESENTATION ‘Down Memory Lane% with Dal Richards - The Dance Band King Historical Society Members and guests are in for a rare treat at the General Meeting on September 25 in the Senior Activity Centre when our guest speaker will be musician and Band Leader, Dal Richards. For over 50 years Dal Richards and his orchestra have delighted Canadians with memorable dance music of the 30’s, 40*s and 50’s. In addition to his music, Mr. Richards has been widely known for his contributions to numerous community causes, including the Variety Club of British Columbia.
