I’m looking forward to working with our dynamic Education volunteers (lots of room for more) and our newly formed Community Education Committee. Next issue we will introduce ourselves. Programming will start in early October - watch for the Education Brochure and tell all your teacher friends! We will continue with the Road Show programme - Education docents use objects from the Museum’s teaching collection and go into the classroom. In House programmes, where schools come to the Museum & Archives, and Extension Kits, programmes teachers can borrow for their classroom, will also be availcible. For more information please call the Museum & Archives at 925-7295. It’s exciting to be back and I am looking forward to another busy and successful year. Jill Baird, Education Coordinator COLLECTIONS It’s been a wonderful summer and being well rested and rejuvenated, I am looking forward to the work that awaits me and the Collections volunteers this fall! We will be back in the Annex continuing to sort and organize the permanent collection (a never ending job!) We will also be researching ways to computerize the collections records and input all the information we so often carry around in out heads. I am particularly excited about working with a team of volunteers on the “community collectionâ€. Researching various objects and private collections from within West Vancouver, this project is not only an opportunity to build our knowledge about the history of West Vancouver and its residents, but it is also a chance to build new friendships within the community. It is great to be back at the Museum & Archives â€" it looks like it is going to be a busy and exciting fall!
