EXECUTIVE REPORT By: Ian Macdonald^ President Society Directors recently undertook a review of the bylaws of the Society to ensure that they are up to date and provide adequately for present day operations and functions. After carefiil consideration and consultation with the office of registrar of Companies (and Societies) we find that only three minor changes are appropriate. A special Resolution will be put to the Annual General Meeting on June 20,1996, as shown in the Notice of Motion below. THE ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING The Annual General Meeting of the West Vancouver Historical Society will be held on Thursday, June 20,1996 at 7:00 pm at Cedardale Centre, 595 Burley Drive, West Vancouver, B.C. Among the items of business is the election of directors for the ensuing year. As usual the Nominations Committee will present a list of members for consideration. Nominations will also be accepted from the floor PROVIDED the Nominee:- (a) is present, (b) accepts the nomination, (c) is a paid up member of the Society, and (d) there is a mover and seconder. NOTICE OF MOTION Whereas there is a constant need to revitalize the executive of the Society and whereas current bylaws do not provide that flexibility: Therefore be it resolved that Part 5, Subsections 22, 24.2 and 24,4 be deleted and replaced with the following: 22. The President, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer shall be directors of the Society. 24.2 Principal Officers - The President, 1st Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer shall be elected by the directors at the first Executive Meeting following the Annual General Meeting. 24.4 The office of President may only be held consecutively by the same person for a period of three years. Editors Note: The President's Annual Report to the A GM appears on page 5 of this issue. The above is a mandatory announcement regarding the AGM.
