This walk begins at the new West Vancouver Museum, with the inaugural exhibit '^Visions of West Vancouvef\ featuring some of the major people and events that shaped the early community, including 100 yean of forestry history. From there the tour moves up the mountain with looks at early skidroads, logging railway lines, former camps, steam donkey sites and an intact shinglebolt dam. Particulars: Approximately 4 hours. 280 metre elevation gain, some difficult sections. This walking tour will explore some of the remaining 111 cabins and the history of the mountain with its Saturday night dances, ski jumping competition, and treks up and down the mountain. The tour begins at the new West Vancouver Museum for a look at the inaugural exhibit “Visions of West Vancouver†with Hollyburn historian Bob Tapp, and journeys up the mountain to the cabin area.
