NEXT GENERAL MEETING The next General Meeting will be held on Thursday, January 27,1994 in the Auditorium of the Cedardale Centre, 595 Burley Drive (off Inglewood East of Taylor Way) and will commence at 7:00 p.m. The guest Speaker will be Angus Gunn, UBC Professor Emeritus and historian and his subject will be "The Climbing Feats of the Mondays and their Quest for Mount Waddington." PLEASE NOTE THE CHANGE OF PLACE AND TIME Please bring your own cup or mug for coffee and refreshments at the conclusion of the meeting. The exploits of former North Shore residents Don and Phyllis Munday are synonymous with the exploration and scaling of Mount Waddington and other British Columbia Mountain Peaks in the 1920's and '30's. Our Guest Speaker will be Angus Gunn, University of B.C. Professor Emeritus and historian who was a personal friend of Phyllis Munday in the years prior to her death in 1990. The extra-ordinary husband and wife team of Don and Phyllis Munday is unique m the history of mountaineering in B.C. They were often respectfully referred to as the "Grande Dame of the Coast Mountains" and as "Canada's Dean of Mountaineering" The climbing feats of the Mundays and their quest for the Unknown Mountain will be the exciting story told at our January 27th meeting.
