On September 27,1993, West Vancouver Municipal Council gave their approval to the Museum's 1994 operating budget This approval sets in motion the activities needed to open the Museum in 1994. Although a specific date is yet to be set early discussions point towards a late June opening! Watch for further news on the grand opening of your Museunt New Faces - Museum Volunteers A second session of Museum Volunteer Training is underway with 12 new enthusiastic participants gathering every Tuesday afternoon to explore the ins and outs of the museum business. This fall the museum is sponsoring Volunteer Intern, Twilla Krown, from the UBC Museum Studies Program. Twilla is interning with us as part of her training at the University, and can be found woridng on the collections every Wednesday. Also joining us on Wednesdays and Thursdays is Sarah Yue. Sarah is a recent graduate from the UBC Commerce Program and is volunteering to help develop and implement a Public Relations Plan for the Museum. Desperately Needed The Museum is looking for tools and equipment, hospitality items and storage materials. If you have any of the following in new or good condition please call Jacquie at 926-9254. * hammers (2) * step ladder * crowbar â-  pliers and screwdrivers * drawer unit for nuts and bolt * T square or metal rulers * matt cutter * white table clothes * sets of wine glasses ’ sets of coffee mugs, creamer, sugar bowl ’ plain glass flower vases * good quality knife set * set of serving platers and plates * clean cotton sheets (for sewing shelf covers) Calling Gallery Guides and Docents Once the Museum is open in 1994, approximately 30 Gallery Guides and Education Docents will be needed to help in the Galleries and with school programming.
