the "Graveyard" or "Suicide" about 1948, This was so successful that other ropes were installed at a later date at Mobra-aten and other locations. About 1950, the Jones brothers sold the Lodge to Don Lee who managed until 1954 at which time Norm Deacon took over the entire facility, making further improvements to the Lodge, other cabins, two installations and ski runs. Norm was owner-manager of the Lodge for 18 years until 1972 when the present owner, Ron Caverly, became owner-manager. Under Ron's direction, further improvements and alterations were made to the Lodge and facili-^ ties. More adequate transportation from the new Cypress Bowl Highway was provided, improved overnight accommodation, full course dining room, licensed premises, and a new name - "Cypress Park Resort". ADDENDA The conversion of the park to private ownership is another story. In 1985, Ron Caverly was operating a fine motel on Galiano Island. Note the open shirt and lack of a sweater on the young man. PICTURE TO THE LEFT We have yet to identify this cabin on Hollyburn during the thirties. But it does demonstrate the snow conditions, and in lack of a picture of West Lake Lodge, we used this one. P.erhaps some-one can make up the deficiency and give us a picture of the lodge, or lodges, mentioned in Mr. Hardman's article.
