Page 8 DISPLAYS In the May 'History-onics' last year, we put in a reminder about the then upcoming Port Day. This year, we are ex post facto, the date of the event having been moved up in order to meet the requirements of earlier arriving cruise ships unhindered by Port Day activities. So, unless you were wandering around the Pacific Marine Institute in North Van on the 12th, you've missed us! The West Van Parks Board display "Waterfront Directions" not only features proposed ideas for sea walk extensions and improvements, but invites public involvement. Chairman Laureen Jones and her volunteers felt that the observance of Mother's Day detracted from attendance at Port Day '91 although it could have been the unseasonably cold temperature. Let's hope that the sun shines for Community Day on Saturday, June 1st. We'll be honouring the 60th anniversary of May Day with a display in the Music Room of the Seniors Centre. Come and see us between the hours of noon and five.
