"A few years ago, a far-sighted man made camp for the night on a rocky plateau not far from the peak of Grouse Mountain and after marvelling at the wonderful sight below, he determined to bend his efforts towards making it available to the hundreds of thousands who would want to see it. Now that dream is an actuality and in the centre of what is now called "Grouse Mountain Park" is one of the most unique buildings on the Pacific Coast known as Grouse Mountain Chalet. It is constructed of cypress cedar logs obtained near the summit and is the handiwork of expert workmen on principles handed down for centuries in Sweden. The construction was carried out under the able supervision of A1 Ostman, a master craftsman.
