site*. The move would be a daunting prospect, but if that kind of effort could be made to save the Dutch Expo castle for Fantasy Gardens, surely the same could be done for a legitimate piece of West Vancouver history. For a building that could be the perfect setting for various community activities and for one that is gaining in historical value every year, saving it in any location should be the bottom line.†REMINDERS AND RECOGNITIONS We will again this year be participating in Port Day which falls on May 28th. This event, sponsored by the Port of Vancouver, takes place at the Pacific Marine Training Institute at Waterfront Park in North Vancouver. Our display, on behalf of the District of West Vancouver, is currently being put together by our very talented Laureen Jones. I hope you noticed our new masthead? ... another fine example of Laureen’s abilities. Upcoming is Community Day (June 3rd). Please note the change of locale of our booth. We’ll be in the Senior’s Centre this year. We MUST have a volunteer to transport the display panels; also, manning of the booth for both Port Day and Community Day. Laureen Jones is standing by waiting to hear her telephone ring at 922-4463. Don’t disappoint! She’s put an awful lot of work into this! A yea/boo thank you to George Smith for donating two very heavy cabinets and, equally as heavy, two shelving units. Glad to have ’em aboard but now we have to move them again!
