Hugh Addison then introduced Tom Sewell whose opening remark was, "I thought you would all be watching the hockey game"! Against a backdrop of photographs, Tom proceeded to give a wonderful talk. All too soon, we heard the words, "You've been a nice audience. I haven't seen anyone asleep!" To the sounds of enthusiastic applause, Hugh Addison thanked the speaker saying, "Absolutely super, Tom". We all agreed. The audience then eagerly scanned the photographic display while enjoying the refreshments provided by Barbara Johnson and her helpers. A single word on successive fence posts leading up to the punch BURMA SHAVE ! In case you missed that despatch out of Rangoon, the official name of the Union of Burma is henceforth to be known as the Union of Myanma - now, that's not something I can get lathered up about, I'm afraid.
