The next was William McGillvary. In Mollie’s words, ’’Jack Fletcher bought it next - probably! It was on the chuck at this point. In 1947 Walter Batterman and Roger Taylor bought it, put it on Powell Lake. Arnold McQuarrie bought it next and then Don Ford. After this, the PATOMAR went logging! Roger Taylor said he saw it beached a couple of months ago (summer of ’86) - Douglas Bay area - he presumed not running.†Roger Taylor says that the 1923 Buick 6 engine was changed to a 40 horse Fordson tractor engine while he and Walter owned her and that Don Ford changed it once again after that. Dear Editor: Many thanks for your letter advising me of the gift subscription and membership in the West Vancouver Museum and Historical Society given to me by Bill and Katie Dickinson. What a lovely surprise. I can’t begin to tell you how much I have enjoyed reading the first two copies of the newsletter that I have received. They have brought back so many fond memories of the years I spent in West Van. Laureen Jones' notepaper is outstanding. I remember her sister, Moira. We were classmates (W.V.H.S. Class of ’39). The next time I am in West Vancouver, I shall be proud and delighted to attend a meeting. Sincerely, Janet (Thirkell) Firth Torrance, California
