But, back last summer, at the instigation of George Watt, and before the rubble razers got busy on the former Post Office Building, we made enquiries about saving the frieze bearing the name "Hollyburn". To our delight, "John", of All Around Demolition Ltd. in Burnaby, got back to us with the reassuring news that not only would the frieze be salvaged but it was the architect’s intention to feature it in the new building. Well, I may not have been the greatest speller to go the local school system, but the letters R-O-V-A-L B-A-N-K still don’t H-O-L-L-Y-B-U-R-N in my book. Pity. Today, tucked away on the south side of the lane between 17th and ISth Streets Just Marine, and all but swallowed up development, the grand old lady is much changed with the years but still bears traces of the landmark it once was when the Salter Family called it "home".
