A PROGRESS REPORT Although the Executive undertook some time ago to change the name of the Society to THE WEST VANCOUVER MUSEUM & HISTORICAL SOCIETY, it delayed a move towards the museum aspect until it was sure that it would have enough material to stock a display of museum items. Now having made contact with Mr. Basil Collins and having secured his co-operation, and having been assured that anything the Municipality has will be available to the Society, the Society felt secure in asking the Municipality for the use of the present bus office, when it becomes available, as a Museum Display Area. You are all aware that the bus maintenance area is to be moved from the foot of 14 Street, and it is our hope that the area will become a park to which a museum display would be an asset. The bus office is the old Ferry Ticket Office, put in 1913, and one of the heritage buildings in West Vancouver. The Executive is delighted that the Rotary Club of West Vancouver is prepared to give us full support as part of its plans to help convert the area into park. You will be kept up to date on this exciting project. SCHOOL ANNUALS If you went to school in West Vancouver, you may still have the school annual for your graduating year. If so, the Society would dearly love to have it for its collecti on. If there was no annual for your year (and during the depression annuals were too rich for most families) we would like to know, if only so that we won't keep looking.
