NOMINATIONS FOR OFFICE Those of us who are a bit older were sayings. "Look before you leap"; "A hundreds. The one that is pertinent light work." The Society struggled through last year a few things just did not get done, and done as they should have been. But now raised on a collection of adages or wise bird in the Hand ___" - there were in this instance is, "Many hands make with an Executive of six. As a result, a lot more were not as expeditiously we have a work area, we have the needed equipment, and we are beginning to get the archival material. All we need now are the "many hands". The need is two-fold ; we need people to serve on the Executive who will run the Society; we need volunteers for work teams to process archival material, collect archival material, work on programs. Serving on the Executive is not that onerous. The Executive meets once a month on the second Tuesday ( July and August excepted) and each member has a specific job to do. We would like to fill the following offices: PRESIDENT External liaison, instruction and co-ordination of work teams. 1st VICE PRESIDENT General administration and forwrd planning of Society Co-ordination of Director's responsibilities. Chairman of Executive meetings 2nd VICE PRESIDENT Membership development; activities) Membership Planning (meetings. SECRETARY- TREASURER DIRECTOR DIRECTOR DIRECTOR DIRECTOR Responsibility for the Minutes of the Society Responsibility for the Accounts of the Society MEMBERSHIP ACTIVITIES General meetings Field trips and open houses Guest Speakers Supervision of House Committee (projectors, lectern, screen) Refreshments ACQUISITION AND RETRIEVAL Follow up on all "Contact Records" Retrieve and document material Assess all material Prepare temporary receipts for all material Return material if necessary. SOCIETY EDITOR Responsible for Newsletter format Obtain draft material from Chairman, Directors, contributors Preparation of Newsletter Supervision of make-up, typing and supervision. WORK ROOM MANAGEMENT Supervision of work room and of work teams Authorization of supplies Relations with School Board (our landlord)
