Thirty-five members attended, not bad in vievr of a competing School Board meeting, Valentines and some rather inclement weather. The election of officers saw most of last year's officers back but there is room for some new blood if anyone would like to become involved. The Executive would like to make this year an active one, especially in the field of collecting and would like all the help that they can get. If you are interested, phone President Bernie Holt at 922-8264. Fees for the new year remain the same; $15 for regular members; $10 for anyone 59 years of age or older. Even if you do not think you can help with the work, please renew your membership. The fee structure is an important source of Society revenue. In his report, the President touched on the following activities planned for the coming year: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. A beginning on the cataloguing and indexing of all the material that Mr. Rupert Harrison has already collected. Under the "Community Recovery Program", the Society has hired three people who are already busy in the work area at Sentinel School A Third Annual Cruise on the M.V, Hollyburn in conjunction with West Vancouver Community Day. At least one Historic Walk through some part of West Vancouver, Like the walk through Dundarave, this will take approximately two hours on a Sunday afternoon. Vancouver and New Westminster run their walks rain or shine; we will probably do the same. A more active program of collecting. Now that the Society has a work area with some room for storage, it can be more outgoing in asking for donations. Training in the process of recording of Oral History. The Society would like to add substantially to Mr. Harrison's collection of more than sixty taped interviews. A News Letter to keep members informed of the activities of the Society with vignettes of West Vancouver history.
