- Original Vancouver City Archives Description: "Narvaez Sesquicentennial Pageant, Ambleside Park West Vancouver, BC. August 16, 1941. Reeve J. Edward Sears, of the municipality of West Vancouver, is speaking after having unveiled a cairn of boulders, with bronze plaque inset, commemorating the visit to Burrard Inlet, July 1791, of Pilot Commander Don Jose Maria Naraez in the 'Santa Saturnina'. Guard of bluejackets from HCMS 'Quesnelle'. The largest crowd - over 12,000 ever known in West Vancouver watched. The sign behind is a relic of the abandoned Pacific Great Eastern Railway."
